THE MAGAZINE

Citizens Elsewhere is a triannual digital magazine celebrating storytellers, artists, and the people who make places what they are.

Each issue travels somewhere new, exploring a particular place through the people who call it home. Our first issue takes us to the Caucasus country of Georgia, with future issues traveling to places such as Bolivia, Mexico, Senegal, and Indonesia. Our hope is that every issue sparks curiosity about a culture, community, or group of people unfamiliar to you.

We believe that sharing stories should be reciprocal. As a publication, we are committed to giving back to the communities that welcome us and share their stories. Each issue is partnered with a local charity, which you can learn more about on the issue page. A percentage of subscription proceeds from each issue is donated to its partner charity from the issue's release until the next issue is published.

Whenever possible, each issue will also be available in the primary language of the community featured, allowing the people whose stories we share to experience the publication in their own language.

Your membership gives you access to every issue released from the time you subscribe onward. Memberships are billed every four months, coinciding with the release of each new issue. If you'd like to add an issue released before your membership began, previous issues can be purchased separately.

We are excited to announce our first issue, featuring Georgia, will be released in December 2026.
